Card Captor Sakura

aka "Cardcaptors"

Updated 7/25/01

Introduction:

This show has done really well in Japan, and has even been edited and dubbed for broadcast in North America, under the name "Cardcaptors." The story is about a young girl, Sakura, who inadvertently releases a swarm of spirits/spells, which had been captured in Tarot-like cards and sealed in a book. The guardian of the book, Kerberos - also known as Kero-chan (who was sleeping at the time the cards were released), coaches Sakura on recapturing the individual cards, which are out wreaking havoc throughout her neighborhood. Sakura's best friend Tomoyo is a wealthy young girl who excitedly films Sakura's card capturing adventures with her camcorder, and sews many unique and adorable costumes for Sakura.

Special Edition Plushes

These "special edition" plushes were not found in catcher toy machines, they were distributed by a raffle. These toys do not have cardboard swing tags, and the "tush tags" do not have the standard Banpresto ID numbers.

There were two 15" plushes of Sakura, one of her in her school uniform (pictured above), the other in a Card Captor costume. (Not pictured.) These were the rarest of the special edition plushes, and are nearly impossible to find in the US. Another super rare item, this life size Kero-Chan measures 8" tall, and is the largest catcher toy of Kero.
