1997

This rare plush was not available in crane games, it was produced by Sega as a bonus item included with a limited edition Evangelion Laserdisc box set. No hang tags on this one.

There were loads of keychains and figurines released between '95 and '97. There were a total of 21 plush keychains, measuring about 4" tall, and many more PVC keychains, which measure about 2". Here are just some of the keychains.

These little 2" figures come with a base with a nameplate. There are bootleg versions out there, which come with bases, but without the stickers with the names on them. The ones shown here are all authentic originals.

asuka-set-a.jpg (57277 bytes) I was pleasantly surprised to see that Sega decided to make more EVA catcher toys in 2001. The first new set is comprised of different verions of Asuka, plus her EVA-02 mecha. asuka-set-b.jpg (56075 bytes)
rei-set-a.jpg (48811 bytes) The second new EVA set is made up of variations of Rei, including one of her as a child, and one of her mecha. Also produced by Sega in 2001. rei-set-b.jpg (37547 bytes)

There were also new keychains this year. Just like with the plushes, there were sets with different versions of the popular Eva girls. I hope to add the keychains here, soon.
