Mobile Suit Gundam

Introduction:

Mobile Suit Gundam has been a popular mainstay of Japanese anime for over 20 years now, and hundreds of Gundam catcher toys have been created over the last ten years. Typically, Gundam and other Super Robot catcher toy items are figurines, keychains, coin banks and such, so its ironic that the first Gundam catcher toys were plush toys. The only other Gundam plushes made by Banpresto were keychain plushes, which were made in 1996.

You may have seen some small keychain type plushes of the Gundam Wing pilots. These were not made by Banpresto, they were made by Sunrise. These were not catcher toys, even though they are often described as such. I believe they were impulse buy items you'd find in toy stores or convenience stores. 

Many, many more non-plush UFO Catcher items have been available over the years. I have a few items, and I'll list more here later on. The following toys were produced by Banpresto.

This is one of the first plush sets ever produced by Banpresto, and like many of the earliest sets, there were two versions - fuzzy plush and regular plush. These average about 6 inches tall. All five from the set are shown, in both versions.
