Ikkyu-San

 aka "translation"

Updated 03/09/2002

Introduction:

Was there really an anime or manga about Ikkyu san? Ikkyu was a popular, real life priest who lived during the Muromachi period (1338 - 1573) and died in 1481. A clever Zen poet who entered the priesthood at the age of 6, and was taught at the Ankokuji Temple. And I find myself asking the same question again - Was there really an anime or manga series about Ikkyu san? And what would he think of the little plush dolls? All of the following toys were produced by Banpresto.
