Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

 aka "Mystery Thief Jeanne"

Updated 04/06/2002

Introduction:

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is a popular shoujo (magical girl) story which first appeared in the monthly anthology Ribon, and was later made into an anime series. High school student Kasukabe Maron is the modern day reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc (Joan of Arc), who transforms herself into the master thief Kaitou Jeanne, who "steals" valuable paintings. But is it really considered stealing if she is only trying to cleanse the paintings of the evil spirits that've possessed the artwork? With her magical cry of "Checkmate!", Jeanne seals the evil into the form of a chess piece.

In the plush set below, the characters represented are: Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne; Maron - Jeanne's civilian identity; Jouelaiji Miyako, Maron's best friend, who is always trying to thwart Jeanne's plans; Nagoya Chiaki, Maron's neighbor and schoolmate, who turns out to be the secret identity of Master Thief Sinbad, who appeared later in the series; and finally, Finn, Jeanne's Angel or Fairy, who helps her in her endeavors. The following toys were made by Banpresto.

Jeanne Maron Miyako Chiaki
