One Piece

Introduction:

This pirate adventure series started out as a manga and eventually became an anime series. There has been a steady stream of catcher toy items since the beginning of 2000, and more are produced nearly every other month. I've been very happy with the plushes I've seen and I'll continue to pick them up. Expect 2002 to be the biggest year yet for One Piece plushes. All of the following toys were made by Banpresto.

One Piece Plush Set 1 - 2000

These 8 inch tall plush dolls have plush bodies and vinyl heads. Banpresto has only done this style of plush a few times in the past. The faces look excellent. There were just 3 in the set: Ruffy Monkey, Zoro and Nami. Ruffy does come with his hat, but it's behind his head in the picture.

Ruffy Zoro Nami Usop
71441e.jpg (12557 bytes) I like this set a lot. This time, they're more superdeformed. Ruffy has his straw hat, and this one is actually made of woven straw! The complete set of 5 is shown. The average size is about 7 & 1/2 inches.

One Piece Plush Set 3 - 2001

This set of 6 includes smaller, 6 inch plushes. Ruffy Monkey, Zoro, Nami, Usop, Sanji, plus Chopper, a cute new character who will surely return in later sets.
One Piece DX Plush Set 1 - 2002

The first DX set features 4 large plushes which are about 12 inches tall in a sitting position. There are 4 in the set, all pictured here. Ruffy Monkey, Zoro, Sanji and that cute bear Chopper. As with previous versions, Ruffy's hat is again made of woven straw.

This set of 6 introduces three new characters who make their first appearance in plush form. Ruffy Monkey returns in new clothes and Sanji is wearing glasses this time. Average size is about 7 inches tall.
