Shaku-chan
Updated 01/24/2002
Introduction:
Who is Shaku-chan, you ask? Shaku Yumiko, a popular Japanese idol/model/singer. "Idol" is the term used in Japan for attractive models, TV hosts and singers. Idol worship is big business in Japan, with photobooks, videos, calendars and more based on the most popular idols. Shaku-chan was the face of Suntory Limited Beer in 1999, and since then, she's released a couple of photobooks, a swimsuit calendar and a couple of CD's. There have been two sets of plush dolls based on the adorable Shaku-chan. One regular size set and one DX set, both of which were out in 2001. The DX set is shown below. The following toys were made by Banpresto.

| The legs are not stiff, so these are meant to sit, but if you hold her up, she measures 14" tall! (I held one up to give you a better view.) | ||
