Star Wars

Updated 9/18/2001

Introduction:

It's kind of funny. There are many examples of catcher toy companies going overboard, producing toys for the same anime or movie month after month. But when it comes to Star Wars, one of the most successful film series of all time, there have only been a few items. But I suspect it has something to do with the licensing fees being too high...

Sometime between 1996 and 1998, Banpresto made some remote control items, of R2-D2 and the Millennium Falcon. I've got these around somewhere...

Darth Vader C3PO & R2-D2 Luke Skywalker Chewbacca
Back in 1992, Takara produced this set of 5 plush catcher toys, including Darth Vader, C3PO, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker & Chewbacca. These measure about 7 inches tall. To the best of my knowledge, these are the only catcher toy plushes based on this film series. I did find these toys listed in a Star Wars price guide, and, as of 1998, their value was listed at $60 each.
