Super Robot Wars
Updated 10/3/2001
Introduction:
Another unique genre of Japanese pop culture is the Super Robot. Giant mechanical wonders which are often piloted or controlled by children. Catcher toy items of Super Robots have been around since the beginning in the early '90s.
In addition to prize toys, Banpresto also produces video games, and one of their most popular game series' has been Super Robot Wars, role playing games which pit mecha from various series against each other. So if you've ever wondered how Mazinger Z would fare against EVA-01, this is the series for you!
Periodically, Banpresto releases catcher toy items based on this game series. These items are primarily key chains, figurines, banks and such. There have been very few plushes of Super Robots in the past, but not based on the Super Robot Wars series'.
There will be more SRW items on this page in the future, but I will start with the key chains, first. All of the following toys were produced by Banpresto.
