Tonde Buurin

Updated 8/8/2001

Introduction:

The story of Tonde Buurin is about a 13 year old junior high school girl named Kokubu Karin, who comes across a little yellow pig from space, named Ton-chan, and a compact which transforms her into a superhero pig girl. Although she's embarrassed at her less than glamorous new persona, she jumps into action whenever she finds someone in need. Her battle cry is "I am the pig girl of love and justice, Buurin!"

The following toys were all produced by Banpresto.

Buurin Flying Buurin, Ton-chan, piglets, carry bag Karin w/removable hood
There were 6 plush toys in this unusual series. You've got Tonde Buurin in both standing and flying mode. Ton-chan (the yellow pig) is holding an apple. The three little piglets have characters on their bellies that, together, form the word "kobuta." The three little piglets are about 3 inches tall, and their strings are tied onto the yellow board seen in the picture. The trio was considered one "prize." The last item is a small canvas carry-all bag with plush figure of Buurin, and the words, "Love and Courage Pig Girl." The third image is the catcher toy of Karin, who is wearing a pig costume with a removable hood. This is one of my all time favorite catcher toys! The sizes vary with each toy. The Buurins are 8 inches, Ton-chan is 6, the piglets are about 3 each. The bag is about 10 inches.
